The Museum's collection includes twenty-four paintings by Paul Cézanne, ranging from his early Manet-inspired portraits and figure groups to his evanescent late landscapes and famous genre scene The Card Players.
The Metropolitan was the first American museum to purchase a work by the artist—from the historic Armory Show—in 1913.
