These objects from the Museum's excavations introduce visitors to living conditions in Egypt during the second millennium B.C. House models, furniture, and vessels are displayed together with small figures of household gods and magical instruments. Agriculture, fishing, animal husbandry, and textile manufacturing are represented, as well as the remains of faience and bead-making workshops and objects indicative of trade and long-distance transport. Three female burial groups demonstrate how social status was reflected in burial practices.
