Reliefs and stelae (tombstones) in this gallery demonstrate the cultural revival process that took place after about one hundred years following the disintegration of the Old Kingdom around 2150 B.C., driven by the vitality of the southern provinces under the leadership of the area of Thebes (present-day Luxor).
