The most distinctive feature of the Astor forecourt is the round "moon gate" that forms the entrance to The Court and its adjoining reception room displaying Ming dynasty hardwood furniture. Located at the heart of the Asian Art galleries, the forecourt is a crossroads that links the galleries for the arts of China, Japan, and South and Southeast Asia.
