The entrance gallery features, on the left, a sampling of early European swords and other elements of armor and weapons that date from the fifth to the fifteenth centuries, representing the periods of the Migration Era, the Vikings, and the Crusades.
Opposite them is a selection of superbly embossed eighteenth-century Samurai war masks and a group of ornate seventeenth-century Japanese ceremonial arrowheads from the Edo Period, which flank the entrance to two full galleries of Samurai armor and weapons.
