    American; New Lebanon, New York
    Pine; 73 1/4 x 31 3/4 x 18 3/4 in. (186.1 x 80.6 x 47.6 cm)
Friends of the American Wing Fund, 1966 (66.10.13)

Because it was found in the weaving room of the sister's shop at the New Lebanon, New York, Shaker community, this pine sill-cupboard is sometimes called a "weave-chest." Comprising a recessed cupboard above and a four-drawer chest below, the piece has also been called a "cupboard-chest." The paneled cupboard door is unusually narrow.
