Samuel Bing was one of the tastemakers of France at the turn of the century. His popular "L'Art Nouveau Bing" pavilion at the 1900 Universal World's Fair in Paris featured a series of room settings by leading designers working in the new style. The delicately attenuated furniture of the salon was designed by Colonna. His tall display cabinet included Favrile glass by the American Louis Comfort Tiffany.
