The Cloisters: Part Two

Deidre Larkin, Associate Horticulture Manager at The Cloisters, describes the creation and maintenance of the gardens at The Cloisters. Designed to be historically accurate in their design and in the plants that grow there, the gardens are the result of collaboration between scholars, educators, and horticulturalists. This is the second lecture in a four-part series that provides a behind-the-scenes look at The Cloisters.

The gardens are also discussed in further detail in Deirdre Larkin's blog The Medieval Garden Enclosed.

Recorded April 2, 2008

May 2013 through May 2014 marks the seventy-fifth anniversary of The Cloisters.
