Follow in the footsteps of medieval pilgrims on this program of selective hikes along Spain's Camino de Santiago (Way of St. James). From Pamplona, drive to nearby Roncevalles and receive your credencial (pilgrim passport) to mark your route. Enjoy a wine tasting at Bodegas Baigorri, visit important cathedrals in Logroño and Burgos, and see Gaudí's Bishop's Palace in Astorga. Other highlights include a private after-hours visit to the Gothic abbey of La Cartuja de Miraflores and Gregorian chant performed by the world-famous monks of Santo Domingo de Silos. Conclude in Santiago de Compostela to witness the famous incense-burning Botafumeiro ritual at the cathedral. Daily walks on this Met Adventures program average three miles.
