Not on view

The Lincoln tintype in this campaign medal is a reversed copy of a portrait print (Ostendorf O-92) made on February 9, 1864 by Thomas LeMere, an operator for Mathew B. Brady in his Washington, D.C. studio. The Johnson tintype is a copy of a portrait by an unknown maker. The unknown maker of the medal likely produced the object on a mass scale for the Republican Party to be given away or sold at their headquarters throughout the United States.
