  • Description

This case contains a fitted compartment for storing the miniscule pieces of a delightful miniature dressing-table set. Enclosed behind the two front doors is a drawer containing a carving fork and a knife. Such miniature sets, rare today, may have played a part in preparing a girl for her future role as lady of the house. Although the silver is not marked, it was likely created in Augsburg, a city known for its silverwork.
