  • Signatures, Inscriptions, and Markings

    Inscription: Georg Meier besitzt der obere Mullen zu Erlischbach. Anna sein Eheweib, Anno 1653. (on bottom) (George Meier, owner of the mill at Erlischbach, and Anna Morach, his wife in the year 1653.) Arms are allusive to man (dexter) with representation of a mill wheel and wife probably daughter of a farmer, and has a ploughshare with two stars above. small faults in translitteration of our card: Add "Morach" after Anna and "wÿb" (J. McN. 2/3/89)
