    Inscription: (Inscriptions in script): 1) (On skirt of figure of larger cup): The Glorious, Pious and Immortal Memory of KING William and his QUEEN Mary; 2) (On side of small cup): Tybourn to the Pretender and all his adherents; 3) (On bottom of small cup): August 1, 1714. (date probably added later); 4) (On back of woman's bodice): no warming pan

    Marking: [1] I C, estoile or mullet (?) between, crowned, in shaped reserve (maker's mark for Jonah Clifton, ent. 1720) Location of mark: On back of skirt of main cup, and on underside of swinging cup.
