This introduction to South and Southeast Asian art takes visitors through eighteen chronologically arranged galleries featuring an extraordinary array of masterworks dating from 3000 b.c. to the mid-nineteenth century a.d. The arts of India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Tibet, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Myanmar are represented through archaeological finds, sculpture, painting, and decorative art.
