Abraham and David Roentgen created sophisticated furniture with ingenious internal mechanical components that today evoke a sense of eighteenth-century European aristocratic life. Discover key Roentgen pieces originally owned by royal patrons, including Marie Antoinette of France, Friedrich Wilhelm II of Prussia, and Catherine the Great of Russia.

Presented in conjunction with the exhibition Extravagant Inventions: The Princely Furniture of the Roentgens.
