For Visitors Who Are Deaf

Programs in Sign Language and with Sign Language Interpretation

Sign Language Gallery talks are presented in Sign Language or are Sign Language–interpreted on a regular basis. Search the calendar for upcoming programs with Sign Language interpretation or for Met Signs programs presented only in ASL. These programs are free with Museum admission. We regret that gallery talks cannot accommodate groups. See Groups of Visitors with Disabilities.

Some family programs are also presented in ASL. See all family programs.

Programs with Sign Language are intended primarily for the Deaf community. ASL students may attend, but we do not sign attendance sheets.

Sign Language interpreters may be requested for Museum programs. At least two weeks' notice is required. Email access@metmuseum.org.

Audio Guide

Transcripts in standard and large print are available for all Audio Guide programming and are free to visitors who are Deaf.

Real-Time Captioning

We can provide real-time captioning for lectures by request. Visitors can request this service up to three weeks before the date of the lecture; however, this accommodation is contingent upon the availability of captioners. To request real-time captioning, call 212-650-2010 or email access@metmuseum.org.
