Powerful sounds will fill the Moroccan Court as two master musicians of Indian classical music come together to perform the ragas and melodies of the courts and villages of Northern India. A performer renowned for his soulful and virtuosic renditions, Jay Gandhi will be playing the bansuri, the ancient bamboo flute famous throughout the subcontinent as the instrument of Krishna himself. Ehren Hanson will accompany Gandhi on the tabla, the classical double drum of North India.
The Moroccan Court Music Series is made possible by the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art and the Patti Cadby Birch Education Fund.
