Gallery Concert: YoungArts at the Met

The Department of Musical Instruments presents Sano Sansar ("Small World" in Nepali), a musical journey from the foothills of the Himalayas to New York City. This program—featuring Pawan Benjamin on saxophone and bansuri flute, and Jake Goldbas on djembe and various percussion instruments—mixes the exotic sounds of South Asian classical and folk traditions with the improvisatory spirit of jazz. A brief tour of The André Mertens Galleries for Musical Instruments immediately follows the concert.
