Gallery programs and these process-based workshops and events are designed for visitors of various ages and levels of experience.

Studio Workshops

Create your own artwork inspired by objects in the collection and learn new methods of art making with the guidance of expert artists and designers. Open to adults of all levels of experience.

Drop-in Drawing

Draw inspiration from artists and original works of art! Observe through drawing and respond to creative challenges in the galleries.

Sunday Studio

Try your hand at creating works of art right next to the ones in the Museum's galleries.

Artist Demonstrations

Experience art making up close as you watch artists create in real time and engage in an informal conversation about artistic processes.

Copyist Program

Set up your studio in the Met to study a work of art. Apply for this special program to work with select wet and dry mediums directly in front of your choice of artwork.

Saturday Sketching (Ages 11–18)

Sketch in the galleries from works of art with the guidance of an artist-instructor. Attend one or all of the monthly sessions.

Summer Programs (Ages 11–18)

Join us for in-depth special summer programs that tap into your talents and invite you to explore the Met's collection.

Teen Studio (Ages 15–18)

Unleash your creativity and experiment with materials in unexpected ways during these art-making workshops in the galleries and studios.

Children's Classes

Spark imagination, creativity, and lifelong connections with art at the Met! Sign up for classes taught by experienced educators and teaching artists who use the entire Museum—from the studios to the galleries—as an expanded classroom.

Family Workshops at The Cloisters

Children ages 4 through 12 and their families are invited for an hour-long workshop at The Cloisters museum and gardens.
