Join us for an afternoon of short films from Iraq. Program introduced by Ahmed Issawi, Curator, Alwan for the Arts.

Cola (2011)
Yahya Al-Allaq, director. A girl becomes the sole provider for her large family because of her father's illness (19 min.). Arabic with English subtitles

Frame (2011)
Luay Fadhil, director. A photographer uses an old camera to photograph the film's characters within its frame (16 min.). Arabic with English subtitles

Threat (Gef) (2005)
Shawkat Amin Korki, director. A boy, who is supporting his family, gets into trouble on his first day at work (23 min.).

One Day in Khadimiya Prison (2008)
Oday Salah, director. Documents the life of women prisoners inside a Baghdad prison (50 min.). Arabic with English subtitles
