The Civilians

The Civilians

The Civilians
Artistic Director, Steve Cosson
An unprecedented creative collaboration between a forward-thinking theater company and a global museum.

The Civilians is a New York–based theater company that creates original work derived from investigations into the world beyond the theater. As Artist in Residence during the 2014–15 season, the group explores the Museum and—through the alchemy of stagecraft, songs, and stories—creates original works of theater inspired by narratives uncovered through their investigation into the objects, ideas, and people that inhabit the Met.
