Moroccan Court Music Series: Indrajit Roy-Chowdhury and Ramzi El-Edlibi

Moroccan Court Music Series, The Metropolitan Museum of Art

This month's program in the Museum's Patti Cadby Birch Court will feature melodies from the evolving tradition of the South Asian raga system and the lively rhythms of Lebanese and Egyptian percussion. Sitarist Indrajit Roy-Chowdhury will explore the raga idiom in new contexts through original and traditional compositions, while Ramzi El-Edlibi will give rhythmic accompaniment and percussive flourishes on the riq and Egyptian tabla.

The Moroccan Court Music Series is made possible by the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art and The Persepolis Foundation.
