Decoda: Line and Expression

The Declassified: Line and Expression

"A new collective of some of the brightest young classical musicians in the world…" —Time Out New York

There is a world of nuance in the use of lines—in etchings as well as in music. In this concert, Decoda (formerly known as The Declassified) presents a program that, like etchings, creates momentum and interplay through the use of musical lines, making evident the connection between the free and improvisational aesthetic of the etching process and music written using similar techniques. The program includes music by Rameau, Adès, Golijov, Muhly, Pärt, and Couperin.

This concert is made possible by the Xerox Foundation.

This program is in conjunction with the exhibition Artists and Amateurs: Etching in Eighteenth-Century France, on view from October 1, 2013, to January 5, 2014.

Tickets to this event include Museum admission.

Note: This concert will now take place in the Vélez Blanco Patio .

Under 30 $1 tickets for kids (ages 7–16) are available for this concert. Children must be accompanied by an adult purchasing a full-price ticket (maximum three children's tickets per paying adult).
