CANCELED—Paper Constructions: Inspired by Architecture

Explore the sculptural and decorative potentials of paper. Artist Sonya Blesofsky demonstrates the techniques of paper folding, cutting, and stretching to show how paper can be a sculptural medium. Make functional or sculptural works of art—such as pop-ups, scale models, luminaries, or abstract sculptures—inspired by architectural structures in the Museum.

This three-session workshop (April 14, 21, and 28) meets in the Met's galleries and studios. All levels welcome. Space is limited. Purchase tickets below or at the Great Hall box office. Instructor: Sonya Blesofsky
Sonya Blesofsky received her MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and her BA from University of California, Santa Cruz. She has held artist residencies at institutions such as the the CUE Art Foundation, Smack Mellon, Dieu Donné Papermill, and the Legion of Honor, San Francisco. Blesofsky has most recently shown in New York at Mixed Greens, Plane Space, Cleopatra's, and Smack Mellon, and in San Francisco at Patricia Sweetow Gallery, Mission 17, and Pond Gallery.

Fee: $195 for the three-session workshop ($135 for students). Fee includes Museum admission and materials.
