Clay and Digital Sculpting

Drop by and discover the contemporary and traditional processes of figure sculpting. Enhance your understanding of the nearby exhibition Bernini: Sculpting in Clay as you watch two artists work side by side, one sculpting a figure with clay, while the other models a figure with digital tools.

Jason Bakutis works with traditional clay and casting techniques as well as digital sculpting and 3-D printing. Bakutis has worked as a special effects makeup artist for feature films and is currently a designer and 3-D modeler for MakerBot Industries in Brooklyn, NY.

Jeff Hesser specializes in human anatomy and sculpting figures with both digital and traditional clay methods. Hesser has exhibited widely across the country and taught at the Rhode Island School of Design and the New York Academy of Art.
