Salomé Chamber Orchestra and Guest Artists Play the Rare Violins and Violas of the Acclaimed Sau-Wing Lam Collection.
The Sau-Wing Lam Collection of Rare Italian Stringed Instruments exhibition on view through June 30, 2013, is one of the finest collections of violins and violas currently in private hands. For this performance series, a selection of instruments from the collection will be played by New York's dynamic young Salomé Chamber Orchestra and guest artists.
The Dark Arts of the Viola
Violinist Philippe Quint joins Salomé co-founders Sean Avram Carpenter and violist David Aaron Carpenter in performances of works featuring viola. Philippe will play the "Bavarian" Stradivari in the Mozart work, and Sean Carpenter will play the "Baltic" Guarneri del Gesù of 1731 in the Auerbach work.
