Het boek van PTT

Editor Piet Zwart Dutch

Not on view

In 1930, designer Piet Zwart was commissioned by PTT, the national postal, telegraph, and telephone company of the Netherlands, to create an informational guide for children about the agency’s services and how to use them. Zwart created two paper dolls to serve as the main characters, and photographed them in various positions. He then enhanced the photos with chalk, ink, and colored pencil, and combined the images with other photographs and drawn elements to create fun and amusing situations.
