These lithographs of wooden structures in Bushwick and Maspeth were created to illustrate "Historic and Antiquarian Scenes in Brooklyn" (1868). In the image above, a church and town hall in Bushwick sit next to a road with a Liberty Pole nearby. Below, a small mill is powered by Maspeth Creek, a tributary of the East RIver that today forms part of the border between Brooklyn and Queens.
