A skeleton, Death, is seated on a cannon at left, and Napoleon is seated on a drum at right. Behind them is a symbolic representation of the "Battle of the Nations." The print was first used at the top of a printed broadside, "Copy of the Transparency Exhibited at Ackermann's Repository of Arts, During the Illuminations of the 5th and 6th of November 1813, in honor of the splendid victories obtained by the Allies over the Armies of France, at Leipsic and its environs." This reissue was used as a book illustration.
