Floréal, Pl. 1

First plate of album with 20 pochoir pattern plates, titled "Floréal: Dessins & Coloris Nouveaux" (Floreal: New Designs and Colors), created by Emile-Allain Séguy and published in Paris by A. Calavas in 1925 or earlier. The plate contains three ornamental designs, possibly for textiles or wallpapers, with lively, semi-abstract motifs inspired from nature. The first design is made up of alternating vertical eye shapes, outlined with white, pastel green, and dark blue, colored with dark purple and dark green, and containing semi-abstract flowers with purple and gold stamina and petals outlined with pastel green and silver, and colored with dark brown and gold dots, standing on dark brown stems with two semi-abstract leaves, with light brown dots, and offsetting scrolling branches, colored with light gray, on a gray ground. The second design is made up of an undulating branch with scrolling offsets, colored with orange and outlined with red, and with small, round fruits, colored with white and shades of blue, and outlined with brown, on a brown ground with golden dots. The third design is made up of alternating roundels, the frames colored with purple and cream, ant the inside colored with black and outlined with blue, containing two leaves, colored with cream and outlined with brown, flanked by scrolling branches with leaves, colored with blue and brown, on a yellow ground.
