Ox-head amulet from a foundation deposit of Apries

Discovered within the precinct of the Temple of Osiris at Abydos, this amulet was part of a foundation deposit of the Dynasty 26 temple on the site. Such deposits consisted of votive offerings buried under or near the foundations of a building during the dedication ceremonies performed before its construction.
