The young queen is shown on horseback, dressed in a riding habit, accompanied by a groom and hunting dogs. She looks down at a dead deer presented by a kneeling ghillie who holds a knife near two deerhounds. The engraving is based on an oil sketch by Landseer (Tate Britain).
