Partly fluted brazilwood stick (broken and glued below head), no wrapping, swan bill tip with trapezoidal mortise, ivory headplate, ebony frog with carved bust of Paganini (left) and violin lying on music scroll (right), perhaps converted from a standard modern frog, with guide shaped to fluting of stick. German silver ferrule, mother-of-pearl slide, ebony button turned and filed octagonal, with German silver ring and ornamental end pin.(Rudolf Hopfner, 1997)
