Bassoon in C

Jeanneret workshop Swiss

Not on view

A special Swiss version of the bassoon, featuring a metal d'amore bell and only one key (F) in addition to three sound holes in the bass joint. There are no D- and B-flat keys. This kind of bassoon was used in churches only to accompany psalm singing, which did not descend lower than F.
