Beneath late Gothic ogee arches, the French royal coat of arms of Charles VIII (1483–98) and Francis I (1515–47) is combined with the family crests of their queens, Anne of Brittany and Claude de France, and the crest of Louise of Savoy, the mother of Francis I.
