End of Balustrade

Not on view

This end of a balustrade is related to balustrade 32.15.1 and provides another variant of the architectural decorative tradition of the late Seljuq and Ilkhanid periods. The decorative patterns are comparable to those on the other balustrade, especially the star-shaped and geometrical figures set within a frame on the sides and the small columns decorating the front. The only inscription is found in a cartouche near the front, on the right side, and includes the signature of the artist, Sharaf ibn Mahmud.
