This print is bound in Volume III of Oeuvres. Jombert published his collection of Le Pautre in 1751. Volume III contains "desseins d'orfeverie, serrurerie, etc.;" This print is part of a series of plates of Allegories after Paolo Farinati. According to Mariette (VI, 73), this print depicts Wisdom, Force and Industry in the guise of gods, Hercules, Pallas, and Mercury battling Hydra. In the sky at upper right, Juno and Jupiter look on. The design for this print is in the Louvre, Départment des arts graphiques, Inv. 4859.
