This print is bound in Volume II of Oeuvres. Jombert published his collection of Le Pautre in 1751. Volume II contains "desseins... pour la décoration des Eglises et des Jardins;." This print is part of a series of twelve plates depicting grottoes and fountains. The series was first published by Jean I Leblond around 1650. The plates seem to have been published by Jacques Van Merle in 1667, by G. II Jollain in 1671, and by Étienne Gantrel.
