Not on view

The Swiss-born artist Angelica Kauffmann enjoyed her greatest success in London and is shown here wearing a white dress and fur-trimmed mantle, her hair in a Grecian style with a tiara, as she holds a pen and a drawing. The related unfinished painting by Reynolds, made around 1777-78, was engraved by Bartolozzi in 1780.
