Based on the painting "Sculpture" of 1877 (Opus CLXXX) commissioned by Pilgeram & L. H. Lefèvre, London and exhibited at the Grosvenor Gallery, London in 1878 (no. 28) with "Architecture in Ancient Rome" (no. 27). The print was first published in "The Art Journal" in London in 1878, and this impression is from a later American edition.
