Not on view

Album of the late eighteenth century in which the plates from the Bolognese drawing book 'Framenti di Ornati' are mounted. The serie consists of a title page and twenty four plates after designs by various artists, all etched by Pio Panfili. The plates show examples of plant motifs, rosettes, animals, masks, architectural fragments, trophies, cartouches and vessels. Plates 20 and 22 were missing when the set was acquired but have been purchased separately and added to the album. Additionally, three extra plates with vignettes etched by Pio Panfili have been mounted in the back of the album.
