Boots

Designer André Courrèges French

To compliment his avant-garde clothing, Courregès offered equally innovative shoes. While the starkly tailored "Courregès boot" has become an icon of his space-age look, this slightly later pair takes a softer form. Childrenswear provided a dominant source of inspiration for many designers at this time, and the references can clearly be seen in this case. The detailing of the boots closely follows that of Courregès's double-faced wool garments, with raised welt seams, round-ended half belts, and concealed closures.
