Description

The plates that comprise the Vasi, candelabri cippi, sarcofagi, tripodi, lucerne, ed ornamenti antichi disegnati ed incisi dal Cav. Gio. Batt. Piranesi were originally issued as individual etchings. In 1778, the 110 plates were first gathered together in two volumes. Due to the fact that the plates were not initialy numbered, the sequence of the volumes differs from one copy to another.
