For Dior, it was essential to be able to subtly form fabric to the fullness that he favored in skirts, peplums, bustles, and in some cases even at the shoulder. Details such as the addition of the capelet, a bodice understructure of boned mesh corset with peplum, and buttons with bound buttonhole closures add the charm of historicism to this cocktail dress.
