Akin to Stuart Davis's urban and signage-graphic acumen is Nettie Rosenstein's enthusiasm for the electricity of advertising design, which she translated into an evening ensemble with a relaxed drape inspired by Moroccan man's garb. The ensemble has a sensibility for popular culture (graphics of Lana Turner, Duke Ellington, chop suey restaurants, etc.) that anticipates the 1960s and after.
