These highly decorative panels (see also 1978.19.1) feature lush grapes and vines entwined on a rectilinear trellis. The broad leaves are rendered in a wide variety of greens touched with blue, purple, and even pink. The slender—vines--some lead, some glass--twist themselves around the trellis, while the rounded, three-dimensional forms of the grapes further enhance the illusionistic effect. In another hallmark of Tiffany windows, the leading is of varying thickness; the grapevines are delicate and fluid, while thicker, more uniform leading conveys the rigidity of the trellis.
