Spirally twisted tubular armlet with one goose-head terminal preserved

Roman Period

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 138

The jewel is a spirally twisted hoop with a goose-head terminal. The feathers of the goose are worked at the ends of the hoops just before the heads at the terminals.

Size suggests these are armlets, though it has also been suggested they might be anklets.
