Bowl

Korea

Not on view

Tableware like this bowl, with a grayish coarse body partially (and sometimes wholly) covered in white slip, was made in regional kilns in the early Joseon period as an inexpensive alternative to white porcelain, which was produced at court kilns and favored by the royal family and elites.
