135 pp. Etched title page and 12 etched folding plates bound at end of text. Plate of festival boat includes folding attachment representing the top of the mast with the Barberini bee. A large foldout plate illustrates an aerial view of joust in Piazza Navona, as well as the surrounding city and hills. Another plate represents a torch-lit chamber concert and ballet in the Palazzo Falconieri. One plate depicts Marcantonio Pasqualini, who sang the role of Fame at the joust, riding in a festival chariot. The book is bound in vellum-wrapped paper.
According to Mascardi, Sacchi designed ten of the plates, including the frontispiece, the fold-out view of the Piazza Navona, and the concert, for which a drawing by Sacchi survives at Windsor Castle. Mascardi did not explicitly mention the illustrations of the Chariot of Fame, the Ship, or the Boat. An inventory of 1671 describes a painting of the joust in Piazza Navona, now in the Museo di Roma, with the same view as the foldout plate, and indicates that Filippo Gagliardi was responsible for the perspective. An inventory of 1672 indicates Sacchi as the author of the little figures. The book was reprinted by the De Rossi publishing firm in Rome in 1649.
