Morion

German, Nuremberg

Not on view

The electors of Saxony appear to have been the only German princes in the sixteenth century to outfit their bodyguards with matching equipment. Silvered morions of this type were probably worn by the officers of the bodyguards of the prince-electors of Saxony.
